The century-old Banff Springs Resort with its 800 rooms, 17 restaurants, 35,000-square-foot spa, and gracious elegance, is splendid. And the 27-hole links-style course, originally designed by legendary golf architect Stanley Thompson in 1927, is superb. Banff Springs is said to be the first course ever to cost $1 million to build. Clearly, it was one of the best investments in the history of golf.
